Edgar is a veteran of the United States Navy, where he served six years as an aerographer's mate aboard the U.S.S. Inchon, and at the Oceana Naval Air Station in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He earned the Navy Expeditionary Medal for service in Beirut, Lebanon; the Navy Good Conduct Medal; and several ribbons during his service.
Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, Edgar earned his B.A. in History, at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. For more than 15 years, he has been in the financial field, in the Capital District of New York State.
Edgar lives in Altamont, New York, with his wife and sons. He is a past scout master for Boy Scout Troop 264. Edgar enjoys playing softball, hiking, and chess.
